Nursing supervisors are nice but need to get more involved on the floor with us. Seems to be limited in what they can do because of the parent company. Very approachable, wants to hear employee feedback and improve. I realized they are just human beings that just need our help.and you aren't ever totally alone and have a swarm of people to back you up in a second to de-escalate if need be. I was way nervous at first because of the label on psych patients - the whole aggressive thing. I was new to psych and worked in SIF previously. (they don't have an EMR yet for charting, it's coming I hear?). We do patient assessments, med pass, work with providers and the treatment team on the patient care plan, and do lots of paperwork, etc. One nurse typically manages one unit per shift, sometimes there is more than one nurse if acuity is high.

I would send a client there for care, but I would never go back. People are overworked and spread very thin.

So the hospital suffers and so does client care. There is such a disconnect between the upper management and the hospital. The staff are great at working hard and taking care of patients. I worked very hard to change the culture and help the staff. I thought, surely it can’t be that bad and I should give it a shot. I had never heard of HR, before I interviewed in July 2020 I read the reviews. Some of the long time management is engrained in old ways. There’s a lot of fighting, backbiting, toxicity and malicious intentional scheming. And the Medical Director is pretty amazing! I felt like if he was that replaceable.yikes. This was stated in a larger meeting with out him present. I was advised that if the Medical Director didn’t like something, he would be replaced. I believe they pay more to make up for some of the negative things going on. They have a document that states that they match 401k at 25% of the first 4%. I skipped lunch and breaks usually or ate while I worked to make sure work got done.īenefits are nonexistent. It’s hard to maintain unless you really pull yourself away.
